Potter Party on Pandora!

Doing a happy dance!  "Shifting Winds" EP is now on Pandora internet radio!

The Adventure Begins -- Back in March, I decided it was time to submit my music for consideration of play on Pandora. Being accepted would help get my music heard by people I don't normally communicate with.  It would extend the impact of my songs to inspire hope and compassion, and mold hearts all across the nation. I submitted "Wait in Hope" to represent my EP, because it is a song I am still very proud of writing after all this time.  It inspires hope in me, and I still play it as passionately as I did the first time.

It took about a month for Pandora to respond--rejected. And they don't give a reason. [Heart broken.]

Dust Yourself off and Try Again -- Another week went by and I decided to submit "Tears Fall" for consideration as a single, since they rejected my EP based on "Wait in Hope."  I've been feeling that "Tears Fall" (written for abuse survivors) is meant to do so much more in the world than it has gotten to do so far.  So I tried again.  This time it only took a week for them to reject it.

Really? How do I get it out there then?!?

I gave up on Pandora. At least until I record again.

Third Time's a Charm -- But a couple weeks later I decided to give it one last shot.  Since Women of Substance radio had already accepted "Knocking," I thought that would be my best [aka only] hope for a single song from this EP to get on Pandora.  Another week went by, and it was accepted!  WOO! At least I get one song on there!  This was mid-March.  Weeks went by just waiting for them to let me know that Knocking is actually up and available for play.

Then I got another email:

Dear Stefanie,
Congrats! "Shifting Winds" by Stefanie Potter is now playing on Pandora.Create your own station, share with your fans and get ready to be heard and discovered across other stations on Pandora.
All the best,The Pandora Curation Team

Excuse me? My entire EP? I thought only Knocking was approved as a single!

So I looked at my submission page. Suddenly, Wait in Hope (as a representative of my EP) was no longer listed as rejected, but as accepted. AWESOME!

The POTTER PANDORA PARTY BEGINS! -- Of course I went right onto Pandora and created my radio station. So fun! :) Some other songs played I wasn't very impressed with, but there were a lot of songs that I was honored to be played alongside.

I love that my station happens to include some of my favorite and most-respected artists, like Jon Foreman, Gungor, Jadon Lavik, Jenny & Tyler, JJ Heller, Bethel, Rend Collective, Bethany Dillon, Watermark, and Brandon Heath.  (Maybe someday my music and production will be as polished as theirs. Until then, maybe a JJ fan will come to love my music as well. ;)  )

Music is meant to be shared and listened to. My music is meant to inspire and mold hearts as it's listened to.  The inspiration and encouragement that comes through my art form can only go as far as my number of listeners.  My world--my art's impact--just got bigger.

~*~JOIN THE PARTY!~*~

If you're excited with me, I invite you to go make a "Stefanie Potter" station too! (SO FUN right?!? Love that I'm finally able to say that. And that I don't have to wait for the next CD to try again. :-D) You can hear all 6 of my EP songs, and I suspect it might help expand my reach even more. <3
